Pearl and her family first visited the Dominican Republic in 2000, where they were moved to help the local communities. In 2015, Pearl and Louise ZoBell, our Founder, combined their humanitarian efforts to create Dominican Starfish Foundation, further expanding their mission of providing aid to families in need.

A teacher with extensive qualifications, she has worked alongside Louise ZoBell since 2011, helping manage humanitarian projects. Amarilis dedicates countless hours to overseeing donations and coordinating efforts on the ground, supported by a local board of directors.

Lisa first became involved with Dominican Starfish Foundation through a desire to support meaningful service for children and families in the Dominican Republic. With a background in governance, planning, and project coordination, she is committed to supporting the Foundation’s mission with care, accountability, and purpose.
